Electrolysis for Teens

The teenage years are hard enough without the added stress of unwanted hair. We provide gentle, age-appropriate electrolysis treatments in a safe, compassionate environment — helping your teen build confidence during a critical time.

A Message for Parents

If your teen is struggling with unwanted hair, you know how deeply it can affect their self-esteem, social confidence, and emotional well-being. Bullying, teasing, and self-consciousness about body hair are real challenges many teens face.

Electrolysis offers a safe, permanent solution that can transform your teen's confidence. Unlike shaving (which causes stubble and irritation) or waxing (which is temporary and painful), electrolysis permanently removes hair — giving your teen one less thing to worry about.

We require parental or guardian consent for all clients under 18. Parents are welcome to stay during consultations and treatments.

Our Approach with Teens

We tailor every aspect of treatment for younger clients:

Gentle Technique

Lower intensity settings appropriate for sensitive, developing skin.

Comfortable Pace

Shorter sessions with breaks as needed. No rushing.

Open Communication

We explain everything in teen-friendly language before we begin.

Parental Involvement

Parents can be present for consultations and treatments.

Flexible Scheduling

We work around school schedules and extracurricular activities.

Common Questions from Parents

Is electrolysis safe for teens?

Yes. Electrolysis has been safely used for over 145 years and is the only FDA-approved method of permanent hair removal. We adjust our technique and intensity for younger, more sensitive skin.

What age can my teen start?

There's no strict minimum age, but we recommend waiting until puberty has begun and the teen is mature enough to sit through treatments. We require parental or guardian consent for all minors.

Does it hurt?

Most teens describe it as a brief, warm sensation. We work at a pace that's comfortable for your teen, and we can take breaks as needed. Topical numbing cream can be applied beforehand.

How many sessions will my teen need?

This varies depending on the area, hair density, and hormonal activity. Since teens are still developing, treatment plans are flexible and adapted as their needs change.
