Getting the best results from your electrolysis treatments starts before you walk through our door and continues after you leave. Here are the essential tips that will help you heal faster and get better results.

Before Your Appointment

Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the 24-48 hours before your appointment. Well-hydrated skin conducts electrical current more efficiently, leading to more effective treatment.

Let hair grow: Allow 2-3 days of growth so we can see and access the hair. Do not tweeze, wax, or use an epilator. Shaving is fine between appointments.

Skip the stimulants: Avoid caffeine and alcohol on the day of your treatment, as both increase skin sensitivity.

Eat beforehand: Low blood sugar can make you more sensitive to the treatment. Have a light meal before your appointment.

Consider numbing cream: If you're concerned about comfort, apply a topical numbing cream (like EMLA or Dr. Numb) 30-60 minutes before your appointment.

After Your Treatment

Don't touch: Avoid touching the treated area for at least 24 hours to prevent bacteria transfer.

No heat: Avoid hot baths, saunas, and intense exercise for 24 hours after treatment.

Sun protection: Keep the treated area out of direct sunlight for 48 hours. If you must be outdoors, use SPF 30 or higher.

Skip makeup: If the treatment area is on your face, avoid applying makeup for at least 24 hours to prevent clogging the treated follicles.

Gentle cleansing: When you do wash the area, use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser.

What's Normal After Treatment

Mild redness and slight swelling around treated follicles are completely normal and typically resolve within a few hours. Small scabs may form in the days following treatment. Let these fall off naturally; do not pick at them.
